2. Rogerian Outline Example

Thanks for working on your outline for Essay 2 last week. In case it's helpful, here's a very short example outline for what a Rogerian essay might look like. I start with the other side and then move into what I think before ending with compromise.

Let's say I want to talk about iPad use in classes:

Some say iPads in the classroom are a huge distraction.

evidence about distraction, quotes from people who think this

I think iPads can actually help students engage because they provide plenty of information and applications

evidence about how they help, quotes from others who agree with me

We can all agree, though, that there should be a limit on how much technology is put into the classroom:

evidence about limits that I agree with and that people who hate iPads agree with.
