A spell for Chameleon is the first book in the Xanth series. I personally recommend the first because, where better to start than the beginning? Although any Xanth book can be your first and still be as enjoyable because of it's clever characters, rich descriptions, and of course, puns. Nearly every object, location, building, even primordial concepts, are based off of puns. Xanth itself is a parallel world to the very real Florida, and sometimes normal people accidently end up in Xanth when they are just family road trip through Florida. Overall the Xanth series as a whole are charming, puntastic, and sure to brighten any readers day.
