If I had to recommend my favorite book of all time, it would have to be Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin. Its a children's book, so I feel a little bit embarrassed that its my favorite among so many more mature options. However, this particular book is of great sentimental value to me. As a child, my home life was harder than most. I couldn't venture past the isolate island of my bedroom and I sought great solace in the pages of my favorite books. Grace Lin touched my heart when she wrote of a little girl like me who struggled in similar ways that I had and how she was able to change her fortune by realizing that she had more than materials to appreciate in her life. It may just be cute in the eyes of some readers, especially older minds used to more mature material. But to me, its a priceless treasure.
