Your instructor will often indicate (and even restrict) the document types they prefer, but if not, these are the types that are compatible with the Moodle grading interface for instructors:

- Image (JPEG) .jpe .jpeg .jpg
- PDF document .pdf
- RTF document .rtf
- Text file .txt
- Word 2007 document .docx
- Word document .doc
If your instructor has placed restrictions on the types of files you can use for an assignment submission, you will see something similar to this:
