I have always been very fond of the United States in the 1920’s. Especially, during the roaring 20’s of the jazz age and glamour. After getting this book from Barnes and Noble on my 16th birthday. I finally decided to read classical American novels such as this one. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mystery and drama. The attention to detail and suspense is an excruciating part in this tale. I also enjoy the symbolism in this book that money cannot buy you happiness. Thus, the American dream (success and happiness) is ultimately unattainable.
