I do love both. But I find I’m more drawn to the personalities of male animals. 🤷♀️ Maybe it’s because I have 4 daughters and 5 sisters with no sons or brothers.

Both! It really depends for me, though. I prefer bigger dogs over tiny ones because the excessive whiny voices and yapping can bother me, but they are still cute, regardless. I've met some pretty mean cats, but also some friendly ones. My cat acts like and has the energy of a dog.
I prefer cats, they are less maintenance than dogs.
I've heard that people who are smart tend to appreciate the company of cats more than that of a dog, but I think dogs are smarter than both the cat and the owner as their species have convinced us to take proper care of them completely.
