Writing Support

As an LBCC student, you have free access to a variety of learning support services, including one-on-one writing support. The goal of writing support services is to help students become more confident, effective, and expressive writers – and to make the writing process more joyful. Students can access support for any writing project, in any class, and at any stage in the writing process.

Three ways to use writing support:

  • Make a Zoom appointment with the Writing Center!

Our appointments are 30-45 minutes long and guarantee that you will have one-on-one time with a Writing Assistant. During the session, you can share your documents over Zoom, talk through ideas, ask questions, and receive feedback on your writing.

To make an appointment:

  1. Go to MyLB: https://www.linnbenton.edu/mylb.php

  2. Click the “TutorTrac - Learning Center” icon

  3. Select “Writing Center” from the drop-down menu

  • Visit the Writing Center on campus!

Walk through the front doors of the LBCC Library and look to the left to find the Writing Center’s new physical location. The Writing Center offers 20-30 minute in-person drop-in sessions during open hours, as well as easy access to reference librarians for research help.

  •  Submit your work online for written feedback within 72 hours!

The Online Writing Lab (OWL) offers feedback via Google Docs. When you submit to the OWL, a Writing Assistant will take a look at your assignment and any information you share in the submission form, then write feedback in the form of comments. You can find the OWL through our website.
