We are doing a major overhaul of Teloh Calapooia Park (approximately 3 blocks from campus) and want to know if your department and/or students are interested in being involved.

- We are going to enhance the wetlands to make them more environmentally useful and because of their easy accessibility make them more useful for learning and play interaction(whether it be chasing frogs or learning about wetland plants). Currently parts of the focus area are much more ditch like than we want.

- We have a group of students from Albany Options School who are doing much of the labor and some of the planning as part of an employment initiative with Community Services Consortium.

- I imagine we have opportunities for your students to be involved in design, plant selection, placement and big picture thinking.

- Students could also be involved in working on designing non wetlands related/easily maintained bed plantings in Teloh Calapooia park.

Let me know if you are at all interested.
