Greetings:  Hort club is kind of winding down for the term.  Discussion about moving the Native garden and upcoming speakers was covered today but nothing definite yet.

March 9th @10 we will be potting up some hanging baskets for the Mother's Day sale if you can attend and help out, that would be great.  We are potting up 10 or more baskets.  ( in the green house)

Keep in mind the cut flower bed for the future and please anyone who has input on anything....this is a free forum.  Load it up and lets get it discussed.  Thanks for all the input and see you in school.  Peggy

Hi there,

We were looking for annuals?....

I found these from OSU extension water-smart plants doc

Annuals
Arctotis (African daisy)
Calendula officianalis (pot marigold)
Celosia cristata (cockscomb)
Cleome hasslerana (spider flower)
Cosmos bipinnatus (garden cosmos)
Gaillardia pulchella (blanket flower)
Gazania x hybrida (gazania)
Gilia capitata (blue thimble flower)*
Gilia tricolor (bird’s eyes)
Helianthus annuus (common sunflower)*
Limonium sinuatum (statice)
Papaver rhoeas (Shirley poppy)
Portulaca (moss rose)
Salvia farinacea (Texas violet)
Salvia splendens (scarlet sage)
Senecio cineraria (dusty miller)
Tropaeolum majus (nasturtium)
Verbena x hybrida (garden verbena)

Some others that stick out to me are:
Amaranthus, especially Hopi red
Aster
Dahlia spp
Dianthus
Helianthus(sunflower)
Limonium sinuatum(statice) (my favorite)
Zinnia
Lupinus polyphyllus Large-leaf Lupine
Lupinus rivularis-Stream Lupine

I tried to pick the least pesky ones I knew of. The amaranthus might be a problem, but I'd like to know what you guys think.

See ya around
