1. Week 5 Overview

Hello everyone! 

This week, you'll get your first major piece of graded feedback from me -- which makes some writers nervous. Don't be. You'll have a chance to revise your paper for a new grade (there are optional revision requirements listed here, though you may not need them). Once you've received the feedback, you'll have a chance to respond.

You'll also start working on your second paper right away. Our topic for readings is about video games and their use in education -- but you have some freedom to expand. Check out the paper expectations and ideas for topics, and let me know if you have any questions. 

There is also an example of a Rogerian paper available as an optional reading, as well.

2. To-Do Week 5

1. Read the article from Scientific American and consider the credibility of the writer.
2. Read the Rogerian long read and take notes. This is the form of writing we'll be working with this time, and it's a different form than the argument in the first paper.
3. Take the quiz over the first two readings before Wednesday night. You can take it twice -- so try for a perfect score.
4. Once you receive your feedback from me, fill in the review/response form. 
5. Read the essay expectations and review the outline, along with possible topics. 
6. Use the R/R Forum to get a jump-start on your essay idea.
